Take Action: Upcoming Solidarity Calendar Events To Attend

On March 31, U.S. Senator Cory Booker took to the Senate floor for over 25 hours, decrying the state of our nation under the new presidential administration.

His opening lines are a cutting call to action:

“In just 71 days, the President has inflicted harm after harm on Americans’ safety; financial stability; the foundations of our democracy; and any sense of common decency,” Booker said.

“These are not normal times in our nation. And they should not be treated as such in the United States Senate. The threats to the American people and American democracy are grave and urgent and we all must do more to stand against them. Generations from now will look back at this moment and have a single question – where were you?”

Working class Americans are rising up across the nation to push back against attacks on our rights. The Oregon AFL-CIO has gathered a list of actions to attend in the coming weeks, starting with the “Hands Off!” national day of action this Saturday, April 5.

Donald Trump and Elon Musk think this country belongs to them. We are fighting back!

They're taking everything they can get their hands on—our health care, our data, our jobs, our services—and daring the world to stop them. This is a crisis, and the time to act is now. On Saturday, April 5th, we're taking to the streets to fight back with a clear message: Hands off!

This mass mobilization day is our message to the world that we do not consent to the destruction of our government and our economy for the benefit of Trump and his billionaire allies. Alongside Americans across the country, we are marching, rallying, and protesting to demand a stop the chaos and build an opposition movement against the looting of our country.

Dan Rayfield Safeguarding Oregon: Federal Oversight Forums

Oregon’s attorney general, Dan Rayfield, has announced that he is launching a series of town halls to connect with Oregonians and communities across the state. The "Safeguarding Oregon: Federal Oversight Forums" will launch next week, coinciding with the 100-day milestone of his administration on April 10th.

In his first three months in office, Rayfield has established clear priorities: challenging federal overreach, fighting back against corporate greed, and standing up for veterans, students and working families. These forums will create an ongoing dialogue with Oregonians about federal accountability and how we're working to protect their rights.
