Oregon AFL-CIO Releases 2020-2021 Legislative Scorecard

SALEM - The Oregon AFL-CIO, the statewide federation of unions representing over 300,000 working Oregonians, formally released their 2020-2021 Legislative Scorecard today. Oregon AFL-CIO President Graham Trainor responded to the release of the scorecard:

Oregon’s economy was leaving far too many working people behind before the pandemic and when COVID-19 hit our state, the gaps became even wider. Oregon’s legislators held multiple special sessions to try to find solutions and eventually progress was made for working people with a better roadmap toward recovery. Along the way we saw some legislators standing with workers in a more meaningful and impactful way; they deserve to be honored for listening to the needs of working people and for stepping up to champion the needs of everyday Oregonians. We are not out of the woods yet: The gaps in our economy are still there, the pandemic is still engulfing us, but the lawmakers who have stood firm for working people throughout the pandemic have set an important example of leadership during an unprecedented and difficult time. As we celebrate these champions, we also encourage even more of Oregon’s lawmakers to follow their example and be a strong voice for Oregon’s workers as we navigate the many challenges and opportunities of the future.
