The Hot Labor Summer of 2023 has shifted into a new season of solidarity as temperatures grow colder and more workers stand up and speak out for dignity, respect, and fair contracts in the workplace.
Beginning Wednesday October 4th, four different unions will have active picket lines in Oregon and SW Washington: UAW members at Chrysler, UFCW Local 555 and SEIU Local 49 members at Kaiser Permanente, and Operating Engineers Local 701 members at Republic Services.
Picketing will happen throughout the day at locations across the Portland Metropolitan Area, Vancouver, Salem, and the Corvallis area.
Here’s a map of who is picketing where and when:

It’s up to the Oregon Labor Movement to stand behind these brave workers during their strikes and keep fighting side by side until all have settled fair contracts with their employers. When we fight together, we win together and there is nothing more powerful than seeing working people support each other on picket lines. We’ll see you out there!
